Moringa Chicken Drumettes Curry

  • 1/2 pack Sadia One by One Chicken Drumette
  • 3/4 cup moringa leaves
  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 100ml coconut milk
  • 30g assam paste, rinsed
  • 2 tbsp chickpeas flour, mixed with 4 tbsp water
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 cup coriander, chopped
  • Salt to taste


  1. Soak tamarind paste in 200ml of warm water. Stir and squeeze the assam pulp. Set aside
  2. In a saucepan, add in drumettes with sufficient water just to cover the chicken, with a pinch of salt and turmeric powder. Cook on high heat for 8 mins, till the drumettes are tender but intact. Take note not to overcook them. Then set aside
  3. Heat a pan with olive oil and add in mustard seeds and cumin seeds, fry till it splutter.
  4. Add in turmeric powder, curry leaves, onions and moringa leaves
  5. Stir fry onions till translucent. Add coriander powder, chilli powder and the tamarind water along with tamarind pieces
  6. Once it starts to boil, add drumettes along with the water and mix gently
  7. Add the chickpeas-water mixture to the boiling curry. Continue to stir till the curry thickens. Reduce the flame
  8. Add coconut milk. Mix gently and simmer for 2-3 mins
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning accordingly. Garnish with coriander and enjoy with a warm bowl of rice!
