Taiwanese Fried Chicken (台式炸鸡排)

INGREDIENTS

Chicken
  • Chicken Boneless Leg
For the Marinade
  • 4 pieces of Sadia Chicken Boneless Leg
  • 60ml soy sauce
  • 2 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp five-spice powder
  • 1 egg white
Other Ingredients
  • 240g potato starch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Cooking oil spray
  • All purpose pepper salt

METHOD

  1. Place Sadia Chicken Boneless Leg in a ziplock bag and gently pound until evenly thin. Avoid using excessive force, as the meat may tear.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, white pepper, sugar, five-spice powder, and egg white. Add the chicken and mix well. Cover and marinate in the chiller for at least 1 hour.
  3. When ready to cook, preheat the air fryer on its highest setting for 5 minutes.
  4. In a shallow tray, mix the potato starch with baking powder. Dredge each piece of marinated chicken until evenly coated.
  5. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket and cook on the highest heat setting for 4 minutes. Remove the basket, brush the chicken with oil, flip, and spray the other side. Return to the air fryer and cook for a further 5 minutes, or until fully cooked.
