INGREDIENTS

  • 320g (½ packet, 2 patties) of Sadia Beef Burger
  • Smoked Gruyere cheese or any melty cheese
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs
  • Tomatoes, sliced into quarters
  • Lettuce leaves, folded into halves
  • Sesame seeds
  • Toothpicks
  • Caramelized onions (pre-made) - For homemade caramelized onions, slice 3 large red or brown onions, add oil to skillet and cook them slowly for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. When the onions are softened, add 2tbsp of sugar to start the caramelisation process. Cook for a further 10minutes until sticky. You may prepare this beforehand and store in a fridge for when you need it.

METHOD

  1. Pan-fry patties on the stove for about 4-5 minutes (you should achieve a nice brown sear). Make sure to flip the patties so both sides get a consistent sear to your desire.
  2. Meanwhile, boil your eggs for 8 minutes in a pot of hot water to make hard boiled eggs. Once they are cooked, peel the eggs and slice them into halves lengthwise
  3. When you still have a minute or so before the patties are ready to be taken off the stove, downsize each patty into quarters using your spatula in the pan. Then, top each patty with a few quartered slices of smoked Gruyere cheese and leave them on the heat until it melts.
  4. Remove patties from the heat and set them aside for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Assemble your Egg Burger by starting with the halved egg, a slice of tomato, quarter patty, a scoop of caramelized onions, quarter patty again, a lettuce leaf folded to size, and end with the other half of the egg. Secure it all with a toothpick. Add sesame seeds on top. Repeat with the remaining ingredients and serve.
  6. Assemble your Egg Burger by starting with a slice of egg, a slice of tomato, patty, onions, a lettuce leaf folded into half, and end with the other half of the egg. Secure it all with a toothpick. Add sesame seeds on top. Repeat with the remaining ingredients and serve.
