Old-Fashioned Beef Stroganoff

INGREDIENTS

  • 700g Sadia Beef Stir-Fry or leftover roast beef, cut in to strips
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 500g egg pasta
  • 1 medium white onion sliced
  • 200g sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 300ml beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 200ml sour cream
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • salt and pepper to taste

METHOD

  1. Slice Sadia Beef Stir Fry against the grain into thin slices. Dust with flour to coat. Set aside
  2. Cook egg pasta according to package directions. Drain well
  3. Heat olive oil in a large heavy skillet over medium high heat. Add in onions and mushrooms and sauté until tender, about 7 mins. Remove from skillet and set aside
  4. Add in butter and let melt in the same skillet over medium high heat. Add in steak slices and cook until browned, 4 to 5 mins
  5. Return onions and mushrooms to the skillet. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce and bring to a simmer until thickened, 2 to 3 mins
  6. Stir in sour cream and dijon until incorporated. Add cooked egg pasta to the sauc and season with salt and pepper, to taste
  7. Serve hot.
